Mounting an Algebraic Equation

1. Twice a number is 28 is the same as 2x=28.
2. Three is 21 divided by a number is the same as 3 = 21/x
3. Twelve is sixteen less than four times a number is the same as 12= 4x - 16

1. Jeanne has $17 in her piggy bank. How much money does she need to buy a game that costs $68?
2. Helen is x years old. In thirteen years she will be twenty-four years old. How old is Helen?
3. Suzanne took x dollars from her savings account to buy some presents for Thanksgiving.
Her old balance was $350, and her new balance is $280. How much did she spend?
4.A large pizza pie with 15 slices is shared among x students so that each student's share is 3 slices.
How many students are there?
