Converting information into fraction form.
Examples
1. There were
20 cookies and John ate 12.
That would
be the same as 12/20.
2. In the box
there are 15 marbles and Jenny lost 5 marbles. That would be the same as 5/15.
3. There are
80 pages in Paul’s book. Last night he read 20 pages. In fraction form it would
be 20/80.
Now it’s your turn. Convert the
information given into fraction forms.
1. Bob packed
twenty grapes and a pear in his lunch. He ate twelve grapes and the
pear.
What fraction of the grapes did Bob eat?

2. Terri,
Samantha, and Jodi each bought shoes for
the party. Terri and Jodi bought shoes with heels. Samantha bought
flats.

3.For track practice, runners were supposed to walk or run twenty
laps. Sara jogged 15 laps and Tom jogged 5 laps. Show this in fraction form.
4. There were
28 words in the spelling test and Jim got 20 right. Show this in fraction form.
5. I am reading a story which has 350
pages. So far I have read 200 pages. Show this in fraction form.
